The Characters

In this section you can find every character shaping Prague's social landscape, as well as those who, in one way or another, maintain dealings or influence in the city. Unlike many websites and channels, Prague by Night organizes characters differently.
City society is divided into four sections: Camarilla, Sabbat, Independents and Others, each further divided into individual characters, coteries, and packs. This does not mean individual characters stand alone against danger; in fact, the opposite is true. At the most basic level, every Kindred is part of the central sect conflict. Most characters are tied to the main war chronicle and to secondary arcs that help involve players at different degrees of intrigue.

After the events narrated in The City, and more specifically in Present, Prague's sects and Cainites of every faction now see an opportunity for rebirth. Prague has become a meeting point for vampires arriving from other European cities.

The sects now fight either to expel their enemies from Prague's territories or to reduce the city to ashes. The Black Hand remains a very real threat, and the Archons active in the city will not allow anyone to take what has been Camarilla territory for centuries. As for the Independents, they still hold debts with both Camarilla and Sabbat. When one sect defeats the other, they will be next to settle accounts. For now, in this city, everyone is necessary.

Possible Spheres of Power for Characters

Many important Kindred in Prague, from every sect, have fallen during recent nights; others disappeared, and in worse cases fled in fear of superiors' wrath after failure.

Titles, offices, and responsibilities now stand ownerless, waiting to be claimed by those hungry for power. No one remains to appoint Primogen or bishops; templars and scourges prowl the streets like ghosts, fighting enemies while waiting for a commanding voice. The Zealot tries to maintain control of Camarilla territory against Sabbat incursions with what remains of the sect.

This is your chance to be shepherd or lamb. You choose.

Those Who Rule
Primogen and Bishops

Carlak, former Prince of the city, never formalized a full primogeniture. Vassily ruled without one, and most Sabbat bishops died in war confrontations. Their offices are now available to Kindred who seek to claim them. Unless someone actively contests those claims, the self-proclaimed title stands in practice. Whether others recognize that legitimacy is another matter, and ultimately depends on each player's initiative.

The Tremere

With the renowned, near-impenetrable Chapel of the Northern Cross, and with the old Regent and much of its membership missing, this is the ideal moment to repopulate the Usurpers' ranks and protect their most dangerous secrets.

It must also be remembered that Tremere, along with Ventrue and Brujah, were among the most influential clans before the fateful Nights of White Ash. What still sets Tremere apart is that they keep their domains intact while others lose territory night after night.

Scourges

Before his disappearance, Carlak was forced to appoint not one but several Scourges to defend Prague's streets from Sabbat invasion. This means several vampires may hold both the authority and the right to destroy other Kindred. Until a commanding voice restores order, these hunters remain one of the few active Camarilla defensive lines in Prague.

The Black Hand and the Sabbat Inquisition

Given the disordered end of the conflict, and the antitribu proving once again that without iron command they can turn on one another like jackals and vultures, both the Hand and the Inquisition have sent agents. Not only to safeguard their sect-brothers, but to prevent mutual destruction and the collapse of their own cause.

The Hand and the Inquisitors remain eternal enemies. Hand agents operate hidden in shadow; Inquisitors act in plain sight. Which faction will impose order in Prague and across Sabbat ranks remains unknown, but one thing is certain: the struggle will be bloody.

Sabbat Packs and Camarilla War Coteries

Every war needs soldiers, and this one is no exception. You can form your own packs or coteries for the chronicle; you may also create survivor characters from crews and packs that fought in Prague's streets (as mentioned in the Prague Chronicle), or choose one of those survivors and continue their story while forging a new one.

Anarchs

The same applies to Anarchs, who are almost certainly more numerous now than either warring sect, largely because neutrality spared them the worst losses. European Anarchs, and Prague's in particular, are still young and inexperienced compared with veteran Sabbat packs and Camarilla coteries hardened by war or backed by centuries of history.
