Pack Priests
Priests are responsible for the spiritual well-being of the packs.
Most are Tzimisce, but any clan can hold the office with proper
instruction.
He is second-in-command after the ductus, and officiates all ritae
observed by the pack, often crafting specific ones as needed. This
forges a strong bond of loyalty and a sense of unity: pack members
become unique and valued individuals within a shared tradition that
proves their worth.
Every pack has at least one priest, though some unusual or especially
large packs may have two. If the ductus is destroyed, the priest
becomes leader pro tempore until a new one is appointed by a bishop or
archbishop (or, in nomadic or autonomous packs, by the pack itself).
Priests carry tremendous responsibility. They must prevent their
comrades from succumbing to infernalism or letting their Beasts grow
unchecked. Most have abandoned Humanity (adopting a Path of
Enlightenment, usually Honorable Accord, Harmony, or even Caine), and
encourage their fellows to do the same. In practice, the priest is both
counselor and warlock.
