The Masses
Not every vampire in the Camarilla holds a title, far from it. The
vast majority of the sect tends to its own affairs. Some are ambitious
and hunger for influence within the sect. These vampires watch politics
closely and may spend decades, even centuries, planning their rise.
Others avoid the game altogether, present themselves to each Prince
when required, and then retreat to sewers or thaumaturgical
laboratories.
The truth is that every vampire has eternity ahead, and would do well
to find something before the crushing boredom of the years drives them
mad. Active politics is only an option for some Kindred; there are not
many offices to claim, and advancement is a slow, bloody process. That
means Kindred must seek other interests and outlets while still
observing the Traditions and preserving the Masquerade.
A Kindred's most common amusement lies in dealings with mortals, which
can take many forms: artistic circles and bands, manipulation of
corporations, attempts to reclaim old mortal lives by living among
their former kind, or simply ways to avoid boredom.
In the end, what matters is not so much what each Kindred does, but
what they do with conviction to avoid drifting into madness and
eternity.
