The Shovelheads
Created as replacement soldiers and spent as cannon fodder, most of
these poor wretches do not survive the horrific, torturous rites of
initiation. Those who do are counted as Brothers and may even enter
the glorious ranks of the True Sabbat. Even so, most members of the
sect mind their own affairs. Some hunger for power and pay close
attention to politics, or choose the short road: Monomacy. It can
raise them quickly, but at a brutal cost, since few novices survive a
direct challenge against someone with centuries of experience. Others
avoid the game entirely and fight for the sect's ideals of freedom.
The truth is that every vampire has eternity ahead and would do well
to find a purpose before the crushing boredom of years drives them
mad. Active participation in politics is only an option for some
Kindred; there are few offices worth claiming, and advancement is a
slow, bloody climb. That means most Kindred need other passions and
outlets, and for the Sabbat, war is often the one they choose.
Serve your sect well, and it will know how and when to reward you,
because you are a soldier of Caine, and that is all you need to be.
Caine will choose his own.
